The lunch break is certainly not relaxing for many people. This is mainly because a wide variety of activities are carried out in parallel and without the right focus. A quick lunch while working half-heartedly while answering private messages or running errands. People need a break to maintain their performance and above all their health. Breaks should promote concentration, creativity and productivity and increase job satisfaction. In addition to nutrient-rich dishes and sufficient exercise, relaxation plays a major role. We therefore recommend not only exercises to relax the muscles, but also a wellness treatment for one of the most stressed parts of the body:the hands.
Relax muscles
For many people, their work is more stressful today than it was before the pandemic. It is all the more important to have a balanced break that leaves the necessary space for rest. In the so-called progressive muscle relaxation, a combination of tensing and relaxing the muscles is used to restore body and mind. For this, different muscle groups are tensed in a fixed sequence and then relaxed again. So it is possible that the relaxation slowly spreads over the whole body. Breathing calms down and heart rate and blood pressure drop. Little by little the body enters a deep relaxation. In this way, power is drawn for the rest of the day.
Wellness for the hands
Alternatively, a soothing hand massage provides relaxation for the second half of the day. To do this, you can easily mix a peeling of oil and sugar, which will enhance the effect of the massage. Then it starts:
Step 1: Slide with light pressure in stroking movements from the fingertips over the back of the hand and forearm to the elbow and circle it.
Step 2: Using your thumb, massage the individual fingers from the nail bed over the individual joints to the metatarsal bone in circular motions. Then grab each finger at the metacarpophalangeal joint and slide it back to the fingertip.
Step 3: Massage the entire palm of your hand in a circle with your thumb. Finally, rub the space between the backs of the hands with the thumb towards the wrist. This releases the tendons and muscles.
If you don't want to massage yourself, you can do it with a small stress ball to relax your hands. In either case, the massage oil can then be gently washed off. The smooth feel lasts all day and hands can easily get back into action.
