You should also regularly clean your refrigerator to prevent all kinds of bacteria from growing. With this checklist you can make your fridge super clean again!
- Turn off the refrigerator. Take everything out and store it outside in winter, in cooler bags in summer.
- Have a garbage bag ready for things you want to throw away right away. This is also a good time to check all products for shelf life.
- Remove all shelves, drawers, bins and racks and clean them with
soapy water (or put them in the dishwasher).
- Clean the inside of the refrigerator with lukewarm water and some cleaning agent and possibly a little soda. Don't forget the door and door seals. Tip:apply some talcum powder to the door seals to keep them flexible.
- Clean the drainage channel with a cotton swab. If it is hidden, pierce it with
a skewer.
- Rub with clean water and dry everything with a clean tea towel.
- Once a year, clean the grille on the back with the vacuum cleaner.

Musty air
Does your fridge smell musty, but you don't have time for an extensive cleaning? Dissolve an aspirin in a glass of water, put it in the fridge and the bad odors will disappear by themselves.
