If we look at our own little country, we are not doing badly. We are in fifth place for both women and men with an average life expectancy of 78.17 years and 72.60 years respectively.
Portugal finished in last place in both the women and the men. Women there have a life expectancy of 69.19 years and men 64.77 years.
According to researcher Dr. Collin Payne, simple things such as sufficient and healthy food and having few conflicts play a role when it comes to life expectancy. “Australia, for example, is one such country that has had a very high standard of living for a long time.”
