Children's eyes are more sensitive to harmful UV rays than adults' eyes. This is because children's eyes are not yet fully developed. It is estimated that 75 percent of harmful radiation reaches the retina. In adults this is only 10 to 20 percent.

Blue eyes, light gray and green eyes are more sensitive to sunlight because more light passes through the iris.
