Good news for avid heel wearers:in some cases high heels help prevent back problems.
This was the conclusion of osteopath Frank de Bakker, who has been studying the relationship between feet, shoes and the back for many years.
How is that possible?
Frank de Bakker:'The lower part of the woman's pelvis bears about one-ninth of the trunk weight. If the uterus is tilted, this provides optimal support in that body region. In some women, however, the uterus deviates from this ideal position. In their case, a heel under the shoe can actually restore the balance and support of the body.'
We like this news! Soon I will be purchasing a pair of beautiful heels…
