You often get a little water left in your ears after a swimming?
Be aware that it is an earwax plug that prevents water from coming out.
And that's when the water can macerate in the ear...
Bacteria can then develop there and infect the ear canal:this is the famous swimmer's ear!
Fortunately, my doctor gave me a recipe for magic drops to prevent an ear infection after a swim!
Now I use these ear infection drops every time I go swimming, and I haven't had a single ear infection since! Watch:
- white vinegar
- 70º alcohol
- 1 dropper bottle
- 1 mini funnel (small enough to pour into the dropper bottle)
1. Using the funnel, fill the bottle halfway with white vinegar and halfway with alcohol.
2. Screw the bottle cap back on.
3. Shake to mix well.
There you go, your magic drops to prevent getting an ear infection after swimming are already ready :-)
Easy, fast and efficient, right?
And to use these drops, nothing could be simpler!
After swimming in the sea or in the pool, simply put 4 drops in each ear .
Then, tilt and shake your head over a towel to get the water out of your ears.
Why does it work?
Otitis in the outer ear is a painful bacterial infection, most often caused by water stagnation behind a wax plug.
White vinegar is mainly used to dilute the alcohol, so as to avoid any pain in the ears of young children.
White vinegar also helps regulate the pH level of the ear canals.
Alcohol helps to evacuate water from your ears well, but also to evaporate stagnant water inside the ear canal
- Warning: I do not advise you to use these drops if you already have an otitis or other ear infection! If this is the case, consult a doctor to prescribe the appropriate treatment.
- To make my swimmer's ear drops, I used an old eye drop bottle. But if you don't have any at home, here are cheap dropper bottles.
- I advise you to write the indications on a label and stick it on the bottle, to be sure not to forget them at the beach or at the swimming pool.
- If you are using an old dropper bottle like me, I also advise you to erase the indications on the back of the bottle, in order to avoid any confusion.
- If you wear earplugs during a long plane flight or to sleep in a noisy place, you can also use these drops before and after inserting the plugs in your ears. It's a small, easy measure to prevent the spread of bacteria in your ears. Just make sure the drops have completely evaporated before inserting the earplugs.
