Your lips are parched from winter.
And you no longer believe in the virtues of the repairing balm stick, which is very practical but questionable in its components.
For 5 winters now, my lips have been entitled to a quick and natural daily care to protect them from chapping.
Oil in prevention and masks in case of chapping are good alternatives.
1. In the morning, apply one of your favorite oils in a circular massage on the mouth.
One or two drops are more than enough otherwise your lips will shine too much and the oil will take too long to penetrate the skin.
2. During the day, use a mini-bottle in your bag, and apply your oil as needed.
3. In the evening, repeat your massage on and around the lips.
There you go, your lips are protected and well hydrated :-)
Here are the oils I use. Test them to be convinced!
Olive oil is definitely the cheapest of the quality oils and does the job just fine.
But on my side I alternate, for pleasure and to provide my lips with different treatments.
Oils do not all have the same properties. In addition to olive oil, my favorites after 5 years are therefore:
- argan oil which is ideal to fight against the dryness of my lips,
- jojoba oil to nourish and fortify my lips,
- carrot oil rich in vitamin A (ahem it smells good too),
- sweet almond oil for its softness and toning properties,
- wheat germ oil, rich in vitamin E, recommended for very very dry skin.
Don't worry, I didn't buy her oils just for my lips.
I also use them for the body, hair, face and... my salads :)
One day, I will also have to invest in avocado oil (very moisturizing) and aloe oil (healing).
My lips also have the right to their mask:
To hydrate them, care for them and prevent chapping, I also treat my lips to a little weekly mask during the winter:
1. Take a teaspoon of a white yogurt.
2. Add a few drops of lemon juice.
3. Mix gently in a mini bowl.
4. Apply the natural mask on the lips.
5. Leave for about 30 to 45 minutes. In front of a movie, it's the most practical.
6. Rinse with lukewarm water.
My additional advice:I also avoid passing my tongue over my lips. I got a feeling of hydration from it at the time, but it seems to make the dryness even worse.
