Super Easy to Make:The 100% Natural Lip Balm Recipe.

Super Easy to Make:The 100% Natural Lip Balm Recipe.

I'm a fan of the lip balm I buy from The store BodyShop.

In the last month and a half, I've used 4 tubes of it, no kidding!

However, this balm still gives me a big problem because its ingredients are far from being natural...

You do not believe me ? So look at the bottom of the product page under "Ingredients".

Frankly, it does not make you want! Especially since a good part of the lip balm is inevitably ingested by our body...

And I'm not even talking about the exorbitant price of €55 for 100ml! So I decided that from today I will not buy any more balm in the trade. I prefer to make it myself, especially since it's super easy!

My lip balm is really excellent. It is made only with natural products! It really moisturizes and protects chapped lips in winter.

You will fall in love with this delicious lip balm! It is not expensive, and it is of much better quality than commercial balms.

Are you ready for this homemade recipe? So let's go ! Watch:

Ingredients

- 30 ml coconut oil

- 30 g of organic beeswax

- 30 g of organic cocoa butter

- 2 vitamin E capsules

- small glass jars of 30 g

- I also like to add a few drops of essential oil of lavender, or vanilla, but it's not mandatory.

As for the measurements of each ingredient, it depends on the amount of mixture you want to make.

The quantities indicated here allow you to fill 3 small jars of 30 g . This recipe allows you to make a fairly solid balm.

1. Prepare the water bath

Super Easy to Make:The 100% Natural Lip Balm Recipe.

Take a bain-marie saucepan. It is used to cook delicate sauces or melt foods (such as chocolate) that can easily burn if undercooked. You don't have this type of pan? Not serious. Take a small saucepan and place a metal or glass bowl over it. Here is ! Your water bath is ready.

2. Boil the water

Fill the pot with water so that the water boils without touching the bottom of the bowl. Make sure that steam does not escape from under the bowl. Condensation must not seep into your lip balm!

3. Melt the ingredients

Then, melt your ingredients one by one, at a very low temperature. Start with beeswax, then coconut oil. Cocoa butter can't take too much heat, so I melted it last to be sure.

4. Add vitamin E

While it's melting, open 2 capsules of vitamin E and add the contents to the mixture.

5. Add essential oil (optional)

Add about 10 drops of lavender or vanilla essential oil. I really like vanilla so I put a lot of it. But it may be too much for you.

6. Put the mixture in the jars

When everything is melted, turn off the heat under the pan. Then, gently pour your still liquid mixture into your containers. I bought these little glass jars of 30 g each. I prefer the glass ones because I can reuse them several times, it avoids waste.

7. Leave to cool

Let the mixture cool to room temperature. Resist the temptation to touch the balms before they are completely dry. You'll keep that pristine, freshly poured look!

And There you go ! All that remains is to apply this natural balm on your lips :-)

Aren't these homemade balms just gorgeous to look at? And I'm not even talking about the smell and their effectiveness!

Unlike commercial balms, this balm does not leave lips feeling sticky and dry once the product wears off.

Variants of the recipe

Don't like any of these ingredients? Or do you have allergies? Substitutions are easy to make:

- organic shea butter instead of cocoa butter,

- organic sweet almond oil, organic jojoba oil, organic grapeseed oil instead of coconut oil.

Note that substitution may cause changes in the consistency and smell of your balm. This balm has the smell of cocoa because of the cocoa butter in it. If you swap it for coconut oil (which is a creamy solid at room temperature) with a more "runny" oil like sweet almond, your balm might be a little less solid.

There are many variations you can make for this balm recipe. Let your imagination run wild once you've mastered the recipe!

Additional advice

- Remember to wipe out the mixing bowl with a paper towel immediately after you finish pouring it into the jars. This will make cleaning easier. Do not throw this mixture in the pipes of your sinks because you risk clogging them.

- If you want a creamier balm, add 30 ml more coconut oil to the mixture. Personally, I prefer stronger balms because it's easier to use, so that's the recipe I'm sharing with you today. If ever the balm seems too solid to you, just take it out of the jar and melt it by adding a little coconut oil.
