Did you know that lip balms contain toxic substances for your health ?
In particular the Labello sticks that I have used for years...
Since these products are applied to the lips, they are easily swallowed!
Fortunately, here is an easy 100% natural lip balm recipe without any harmful products.
And in addition, this recipe is very economical!
I offer you here 2 versions of this lip balm:a colored and a colorless version.
Without further ado, here is the recipe for the 100% natural lip balm that your lips will love! Watch:
- 1 teaspoon of beeswax pellets
- 1 teaspoon of shea butter or cocoa butter
- 1 teaspoon of coconut oil
These basic ingredients will allow you to create a smooth and clear lip balm, very moisturizing and protective.
It is made from all-natural ingredients. Once applied to the lips or skin, it is harmless to health.
If you wish, you can also make a colored lip balm by adding the following ingredients to create the color of your choice.
If you're wondering where to find shea butter, you can easily find it in organic stores.
- For a red color: a very small pinch of beetroot powder or 1 drop of natural red food coloring without chemical additives. Go easy on the quantity, because a very small amount is more than enough.
- For a brown color: 1/4 teaspoon organic cocoa powder, or a small pinch of cinnamon or turmeric to get exactly the color you want.
- For a more matte texture: 1/4 teaspoon of green clay. Combine it with a color so as not to leave white traces on the lips.
- For the perfume: a single drop of essential oil of choice (optional).
1. Put the beeswax, shea (or cocoa) butter and coconut oil in a glass jar without a lid.
2. Place the jar in a small saucepan of simmering water. Given the small amount used for each ingredient, the mixture will melt quickly.
3. When the mixture is melted, remove the jar from the heat.
4. (Optional) Add ingredients for color or flavor if desired.
5. Once the ingredients are well blended but still runny, use a dropper to pour the mixture into an empty tube like this.
Note: do not fill the tube to the top, as the balm expands slightly when cooled.
6. Let the lip balm tube cool for at least half an hour.
7. Store it in a cool place (less than 25 degrees) otherwise it may soften.
There you go, your 100% natural lip balm without toxic products is already ready :-)

Be aware that to achieve a shade like in the photos, I used 1/8 teaspoon of beetroot powder .
I added 1/4 teaspoon of cocoa powder , 1/8 teaspoon of green clay .
And to finish, I put 1/8 of a teaspoon of cinnamon .
I also added a peppermint essential oil just because I love the smell.
After mixing everything together, I added a little more cocoa powder to darken it slightly.
I also used the glass dropper from an old tincture bottle to avoid buying one.
And for a gloss effect, add a touch of honey directly to the lips.
