"Mom, it won't come down!" ".
I peek into the bathroom. And there, I see my son making a funny face on the throne...
He has a stomach ache but can't go to the toilet.
Unfortunately, dealing with constipation issues in toddlers is complicated.
We already told you here about natural and effective remedies for constipation.
But recently, my friend Laurence, who is a nurse in a hospital in Alsace, shared with me her recipe for anti-constipation sweets.
Today, it's my turn to share with you this amazing but very effective remedy against constipation (thank you Laurence!). Watch:
Contents
- 215 g melted extra-virgin organic coconut oil (approx. 16 tbsp)
- 6 to 8 cl (depending on taste) squeezed lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons of organic honey (it also works with maple syrup)
- 1/4 teaspoon Himalayan pink salt
- 1 or 2 silicone moulds. With 2 molds, you can prepare more candies in one go.
- a food processor or blender
1. Start by putting the silicone molds in the freezer for about 10 min.
2. Pour all the ingredients into the bowl of your food processor or the carafe of your blender.
3. Mix and taste as you add the ingredients. Depending on your taste, add lemon juice (for more acidity) and honey (to sweeten the mixture).
4. Continue mixing, until all ingredients are fully incorporated in coconut oil.
If the ingredients are not mixed enough with the coconut oil, you will have more difficulty pouring the mixture into the molds because of the honey, which is denser and tends to stick to the bottom of the container.
5. Continue mixing for one minute. In the meantime, take the molds out of the freezer.
6. Pour the mixture into the silicone molds and put them in the freezer for about 1 hour.
There you go, thanks to these anti-constipation sweets, no more worries about going to the toilet :-)
Guaranteed effect! Easy, isn't it? In addition, these candies are a delight. Your kids will love it and you will too.
As I told you at the start, it was my friend Laurence who shared this remedy with me, and it worked very well for my son.
"Only 2 anti-constipation gummies, that's all it takes." And 8-18 hours later, say goodbye to tears and hello to relief for you and your children! explains Laurence.
She also adds "For children, I give a dose of 2 candies a day, and I wait a whole day to see how they react.
“For adults, I start with a dose of 4 candies. Then I add 1 a day to determine the best dose for each person”.
The ingredients of this candy are super effective in stimulating normal transit and relieve temporary constipation .
Why ? According to Laurence, “It's mainly because coconut oil has a high content of medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs). MCTs are known to prevent the accumulation of fat in the human body. They also tend to easily pass through the digestive tract. »
It is this peculiarity of coconut oil that makes it particularly suitable for improving bowel function and preventing constipation.
It is essential to distinguish between transient constipation and chronic constipation, the latter often being associated with serious illnesses.
Causes of temporary constipation are diverse:stress, feeling of shame when going to the bathroom, disturbance of food, psychogenic causes, dehydration, etc.
On the other hand, several scientific studies indicate that chronic constipation is linked to much more serious problems, such as an imbalance of the intestinal flora, insufficient trace elements, allergies or even hypothyroidism.
Of course, if one of my little brats suffered from chronic constipation, I would go immediately to consult a qualified doctor so that he could identify and treat the origin of the constipation problem.
There are other natural remedies for constipation and intestinal disorders.
Among the most effective, I particularly recommend pure aloe vera juice and powdered slippery elm bark.
The advantage of these two remedies is that they have a sweet taste that children love.
But there is another effective, albeit surprising, remedy.
If your children are old enough, try to buy them a squat position stool to go to the toilet:the famous Squatty Potty.
One of the concerns of our Western societies is the ergonomics of the toilets which are not adapted to our intestines.
Indeed, the shape of the toilets means that we are not squatting enough.
To remedy this, the Squatty Potty is an ideal stool because it allows you to have a squatting position when you go to the toilet.
It helps children and adults adopt the most natural position for defecating.
Thus, a well-positioned Squatty Potty helps to eliminate stools quickly, easily and WITHOUT pain because the colon is thus well aligned.
The Squatty Potty comes in two sizes:a 19cm size for conventional toilets and a 23cm size for higher toilets.
