Skin cancer has been discovered at the Belgian sexologist and TV personality Goedele Liekens. “The cancer cells had found their way into my body and were already in the glands.”
She announced the sad news via Facebook:“You know, it's not in my nature to disguise things. And I want to tell you myself. I have skin cancer. It started a few months ago with one of those weird spots that dermatologists have been warning about for years. That stain was immediately removed. When that proved insufficient, an operation was carried out to cut the thing quite deeply.”
“Unfortunately too late:the cancer cells had found their way into my body and were already in the glands. From there, the way to further metastases is of course open. "Once a melanoma is inside, it makes strange jumps," said the oncologist."

The Flemish is now under treatment and says that good days and bad days alternate. “There are good days when I live happily and energetically as if nothing is wrong. Then I force myself to enjoy it while I can. There are bad days when the side effects of that treatment make me dead tired, nauseous and sick.”
Because she increasingly suffers from bad days, she will put her work on the back burner for the time being.
