Keith Flint, member of The Prodigy passed away. How serious is depression?
Yesterday the sad news came out that Keith Flint, member of the British formation The Prodigy, has passed away at the age of 49. On the band's Instagram page, keyboardist Liam Howlett writes that the singer committed suicide.
Unfortunately, Keith Flint is not the only example we know of. In recent years, more famous people have chosen to take their own life. We all know the story of Alexander McQueen, Robin Williams, Avicii and last summer Queen Máxima's sister.
These are very sad examples. In the editorial we make a series of articles and videos about depression and one of the questions is how serious a depression can be. Psychologist Merel Hovestad explains that depression can be very serious, with no matter how sad, sometimes even death as a result. She emphasizes the importance of seeking the right help when you are dealing with depressive symptoms.

Furthermore, Merel tells us that unfortunately there are still people who do not or do not receive the right treatment when they have depressive symptoms. She explains this again in the video below.
