Sleepless nights? Kelly tested cannabis oil and tracked the results with the new Fitbit

Santé's Kelly was allowed to test the latest gadget from Fitbit:the Fitbit Ionic.

About the Fitbit Ionic The Fitbit Ionic has a sleek and cool design with a touchscreen. The Fitbit straps can be exchanged for leather straps or other sporty straps. The Ionic has advanced GPS tracking, integrated workouts, improved heart rate measurement and is even water resistant to a depth of 50 meters. As far as I'm concerned, the latter is also a big advantage since I sometimes forgot to remove my previous watch from my wrist before I got into the shower or went swimming.

Other fun features on the Ionic:

  • Varied workout tracking:from swimming to strength training and from running to HIIT and even a meditation and breathing session!
  • Storage for more than 300 music tracks that can be linked to a Bluetooth device.
  • Pay with Fitbit Pay:so far this is only possible with credit and debit cards from American Express, Mastercard and Visa.
  • Smartphone notifications (calls, apps, appointments and notifications from apps)
  • And… Last but not least:a multi-day battery life of no less than 4+ days.

What does the app look like? You can easily install the app on your smartphone. If you synchronize regularly, you will see that your watch registers everything.

On the home screen you can see at a glance the number of steps up to that point, the number of kilometers walked, calories burned and active minutes. He measures the latter based on your heart rate.

Below you can see, for example, how the watch monitors my heart rate during a day. At night my resting heart rate is very low, at its lowest it is even around 35 heartbeats per minute (the lowest peak). My average resting heart rate during the day is 54 beats per minute. In the evening you see the highest peak, which is during my training in the gym.

And then sleep?
Besides measuring steps per day, heart rate, and calories burned, there's something else I love about Fitbit. And that is that it also measures your sleep cycle.
Now I must say that I am not a very bad sleeper per se. Quite light. I wake up several times a night and can toss and turn a lot. As a result, I often wake up with the feeling that I have not slept very deeply.

I see this every day in my sleep pattern on the Fitbit app. You can see the red peaks below, those are the moments when I wake up.

My father has been immersed in the wonderful world of cannabis oil for some time now. After making this himself for his own use the first few times, more and more people benefited from his 'droplets'. At first I was quite skeptical about it. With these kinds of things I tend to say:'first see, then believe'. So, no sooner said than done.

Both my parents lost my grandmothers and grandfather at a relatively young age. Partly because of this, my father started to delve more into the benefits that cannabis oil offers. For example, many cancer patients benefit from the symptom-relieving properties of cannabis against their disease. Cannabis oil seems to have a positive influence on:

  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Mood, anxiety and stress
  • Relief from pain
  • Sleep problems
  • Fatigue
  • Heart and blood vessels
  • Sexual functioning
  • Digestion
  • Itching, skin protection

Because I myself do not suffer from the above complaints, I wanted to test the use purely to see what it would do to my sleeping pattern. And see the results below:

If we compare these results with the first results above, you can really see a significant difference. Almost all 'peaks' during the night have disappeared. In other words, I just sleep through the night. In recent weeks I have taken an average of 2 small drops of oil per evening, just before going to sleep. Sometimes I shot out with my pipette, then I noticed that I was a bit dizzy became. But otherwise it didn't bother me.

Conclusion
Every day I view and sync my Fitbit app on my smartphone to analyze my average resting heart rate, the number of steps per day, number of calories burned and my sleep pattern.

Personally, I find that the cannabis oil has a beneficial effect on my sleeping pattern. I woke up more rested and actually had the feeling that I had slept through the night. However, I remain a strong believer in 'do what works for you'. What works for me certainly doesn't have to work for you. And that is with a lot of situations. Try, test, analyze and see how you feel about it.
