With these tips you can make your home healthier.
1. Keep the bathroom mold-free
You can tackle mold with an anti-mold product, but it's better to prevent mold. Make sure you ventilate the bathroom well. If possible, open a window, or leave the door open for a while after showering. Mold likes to settle in damp corners, so try to dry it immediately after showering.
2. Keep your bed clean
Use special covers against dust mites for your mattress and bedding. Air your duvet and mattress regularly and wash your bedding at 60 degrees every week.
3. Install an extractor hood
An extractor hood ensures that less moisture, smoke and odors are released in your home during cooking.
4. Close open packages properly
Do not keep open bags of pasta, flour or sweets in your pantry. Close everything tightly or put the products in glass jars. This way you reduce the risk of pests in your kitchen.
5. Ventilate continuously
It is not enough to open the windows and doors every day. You need to ventilate your home throughout the day. It is important, among other things, to keep the humidity in the house healthy. Read our tips to ventilate your home.
6. Take off your shoes before entering
Your shoes take dirt from the outside in with them. Preferably take off your shoes before entering and at least put down a doormat.
7. Use dust storage boxes
Keep your gear dust-free. This is easiest on smooth surfaces. Store as much loose clutter in storage bins as possible. Also think of the things in the storage room or in the attic.
8. Replace your sofa with a leather sofa
Leather sofas absorb dust mites less quickly. If you have a fabric sofa, run the vacuum cleaner over your sofa every week.
