Having a hobby is a timeless thing. One person likes to make their own cards, another likes painting by numbers and another keeps an impressive stamp collection. In this article we would like to tell you more about a creative hobby that is gaining more and more ground, namely Diamond painting. Maybe it's something for you too!
What is Diamond painting?
Diamond painting literally means:diamond painting. It's like painting by numbers, but different. You stick the diamonds on a canvas, so that an image is created. You can order the canvas with a pre-printed image and then make it a more colorful whole. There is even a possibility to do this with your own image, for example a family photo.
What do you need to get started with Diamond painting?
If you want to start with Diamond painting you need a few things:
How do you start?
If you want to start, you first roll out the canvas. It is important that you have enough space for this, so that you can work in a calm manner and you do not have to move everything all the time. If you have a large kitchen table, this is of course an ideal place to get started. It can be useful to tape the corners of the canvas with a piece of tape. If you want to be able to store everything neatly every now and then, it is also an option to stick the canvas on a large plate of wood.
Then choose a color you want to start with. Our tip:sort all the stones by color before you even get started. Saves a lot of searching and possible annoyances. Find the correct color code for the symbol printed on the canvas and then pour the stones you need into a sorting tray or bag. Write the number on the container or bag so that you can find everything again later and you know exactly what is in what.
Place the diamonds in the shaker tray and pull the foil off the canvas a bit in one of the corners. The canvas contains glue, which you can use to stick the diamonds. Never remove all the foil immediately. The glue will then dry out and the canvas will no longer stick. You need the Diamond pen to stick the stones on the canvas. Put it in the wax first before you take a diamond from the shaker. Then paste it on the correct box. You repeat this until your artwork is completely finished. You can frame it and hang it if you want. Also nice to give as a present to someone!
