The VU medical center is starting a special outpatient clinic for shoulder complaints.
In the Netherlands, one in five people suffer from shoulder pain † Often these are complaints that persist for a long time and regularly recur. That is why the VU medical center will start a special shoulder outpatient clinic from 13 November where orthopedic surgeons and physiotherapists work together.
The outpatient clinic is open for patient visits twice a month. During the visit, patients receive a specific diagnosis and a good referral that fits their complaint.
This can be, for example, a operation by an orthopedic surgeon but also treatment by a physiotherapist. Also rehabilitating patients can go to the special shoulder group in the VU medical center.
With the outpatient clinic, the VU medical center is trying to reduce the number of shoulder complaints to reduce their complaints as much as possible and to help their patients get rid of their complaints as quickly as possible.
