Make your own Vicks with natural ingredients. Why use expensive and especially harmful Vicks when you can also make Vicks yourself? Healthy Vicks works effectively and is not harmful. These homemade vicks can be used for children and adults without any problems. Easily make DIY vicks with purely natural ingredients.
Beforehand, a small introduction to why the ready-to-use Vicks vaporub (regardless of brand) is not recommended. Vaporub that is available in the shops contains petroleum. This substance is harmful to health and should be avoided. Petroleum is intended for industrial purposes and not to lubricate the body. Where one remedy is combated, you can have other health problems if you use liniments with petroleum.
PLEASE NOTE:Due to the use of eucalyptus, this Vicks is not suitable for children under 8 years old. You can replace the eucalyptus with myrtle, niaouli (for children over 1 year) or, for example, copiaba.
15 drops lemon essential oil
15 drops eucalyptus essential oil
5 drops tea tree essential oil
10 drops lavender essential oil
5 drops thyme (optional)
3 tablespoons coconut oil
Glass jar
Tbsp
1. Work with a clean and sterilized glass jar. First wash the glass jar carefully and then boil it for about 5 minutes. Remove the jar from the boiling water with a clean fork and turn it upside down on a clean tea towel or napkin. Let dry completely before making the Vicks.
2. First, mix all the essential oils together. You do this by dripping it into the glass jar and then gently turning it back and forth between your palms (so don't shake).
3. Then add the 3 tablespoons of liquid coconut oil. Screw on the lid and turn the whole thing back and forth between your palms as well.
4. Place the mixture in the refrigerator. The cold turns the liquid oil into a hard substance that is easy to spread. The Vicks can be kept for several weeks in the refrigerator.
Apply the Vicks to the chest and back of the sick person 3 times a day.
I only use organic essential oil to make this ointment.
After a lot of reading and information, I prefer organic essential oil. The essential oil from pit-pit.com works well and is reasonably priced. I now have a whole box full of different types of essential oil and I have written a review about that too.
