Fortunately, some are revolting against this more than unhealthy situation for the inhabitants.
Rob Finley is one of them. He chose to grow illegally organic vegetables everywhere in the city to regain your food autonomy .

Like 26.5 million Americans, the people of South Los Angeles live in the middle of a food desert.
And if they want to eat healthy without pesticides , they must be patient and drive several km by car.
Outraged by this situation, Ron Finley decides to become a "gangster-gardener".
With his association L.A. Green Grounds, he creates illegal organic vegetable gardens, all over the city, on vacant lots , on the curbs of the sidewalks...
Its action allows everyone to eat healthily.
For Ron Finley, it's also his own way to beautify his neighborhood:"Like a graffiti artist who beautifies the walls, I beautify the lawns and the sides of the roads".
