Swedish Gym is the new sport of the moment imported directly from cold.
Accessible to all and not expensive at all, it's an opportunity to get moving.
We will no longer have anything to envy to these beautiful Scandinavians.
Sports? What exactly?
Impossible. Me, always the last to be chosen when forming teams in sport - painful memory -, who runs out of steam running 20 meters to catch the 96...
Unlikely, I tell you.
Some people tried to put me in it, they had problems.
Let me tell you that when Mounia told me about Swedish Gym , it didn’t really resonate in my little head. For me, Sweden is above all:the cold, the big blondes (#jealousy), the buns and the kit furniture.
However, after strong lobbying on the benefits of this new sport , who now occupied it several times a week, I said to myself "well I'm going" just to fill up with a good conscience for the next few months.
I was psychologically ready to face battalions of hotties in lycra, to ridicule myself in public, panting and disarticulated in the middle of an Eric Prydz clip. The William Wallace of abs and glutes. But just imagine, and it almost pains me to admit it, that I...loved it. Let me tell you my story.
The concept
Very popular with our little friends (who number some 500,000 practitioners), this Gym was designed by its creators as combining "health" but also "well-being". Here no competitive spirit, no performance at all costs. It is aimed at everyone, of all ages, and since its introduction in France in 1993, the enthusiasm for this very accessible sport has continued to grow.
The Swedish Gym Association you need to know .
Association law of 1901, all the staff is voluntary. The atmosphere is therefore on point. The course lasts one hour, we alternate stretching, cardio exercises, bodybuilding on the ground and relaxation to the sound of the monitor playlist. To each his own style, to each his touch... and no shame. We are all in the same boat (viking). Old, young, fat, skinny... we were all there to do battle on Eminem, with more or less grace.
At the end of the course I was scarlet red, soaked, but proud as Artaban to have held on. And suddenly... well, I went back.
Where is it?
The federation invests all the spaces to offer a maximum of time slots to its members. Nightclubs, gymnasiums and dance halls… The French Federation of Swedish Gyms provides nearly 400 lessons per week in Paris and in several cities in Ile-de-France, as well as in Bordeaux, Lille, Lyon, Montpellier, Marseille , Nantes, Nice, Rennes, Strasbourg and Toulouse.
How much is it?
Consult here the different rates applicable according to the package chosen (White, yellow, blue or green) which gives access to more or fewer rooms and to more or fewer time slots. Personally, I opted for a blue package that I paid 85 € on the internet. It runs from February to the end of June. The calculation is quickly done:about twenty euros per month to attend an almost unlimited number of courses. This is unheard of!
For the chilly, it is possible to attend the course individually for €10 (refunded if you take a ski pass at the end of the said course).
Here is. Now I too am having it, my sports bag under my arm, headphones over my ears, dressed in old clothes that make me look like a duchess when I say "Come on larvae, I'm going to sport , Salvation ! ". I had always dreamed of it!
I let you consult the price list of popular gym clubs to convince you that the Swedish Gym, in addition to being super giga cool, is incredibly cheap for what it is.
