As we age, the skin becomes slack and requires a lot more hydration. Here is a recipe for cleansing milk to make at home to remove makeup from mature skin and deeply nourish it.
This is a recipe given to me by a friend who makes a lot of cosmetics herself. This formula was adapted for his mother who needed more specific care. Just for you Ladies here is the recipe.
"Bi-phase cleansing emulsion for mature skin"
Ingredients &equipment. (with product links to Amazon)
4 tablespoons of aloe gel (in a tube, €4 in organic stores), two tablespoons of wheat germ oil (€5.70 in organic stores) (or sweet almond) 2 tablespoons rose water (€4 for 200 ml in supermarkets), 8 drops of vitamin E (€8.70 in organic stores) 1 tablespoon of glycerin (€3.20 for 200 ml) a sterilized glass bottle.
Of course we wash our hands and go to the kitchen.
The little Tambouille
Directly into the well sterilized and dry bottle, pour all the ingredients one by one, then mix everything as with a shaker. And voila, your bi-phase make-up remover that will take care of your mature skin. Fast right?
Storage
2 months away from light to prevent oxidation of the oil.
Use
As it is a two-phase lotion, fats and liquids separate on standing. It's not a problem, just shake the bottle to reconstitute the mixture before each use (Why not with a little Samba tune to get into the Percussion mood!) Then, we generously impregnate a cotton ball with this make-up remover and proceed with make-up removal.
For optimal cleansing and good hydration, don't forget a little lotion and apply a good nourishing cream.
How does it work?
Rose water has healing, soothing and astringent properties. It is an excellent anti wrinkle. Wheat germ oil has restorative and anti-oxidant properties and especially the fatty substances facilitate the removal of make-up. Glycerin, aid in make-up removal and hydrates the epidermis. Vitamin E has antioxidant properties which will improve the conservation of your milk and effectively fight against the natural degradation of the skin.
Voila, a cheap make-up remover suitable for mature skin.
Want to try it? Tell me about it in the comments.
Wheat germ oil is not easily found, you can replace it with sweet almond oil (softening and make-up remover) and which costs a little less .
In the same way, we can consider replacing vitamin E with an essential oil that will provide similar benefits. (essential oil of petit grain bigarade for example)
One last piece of advice , here vitamin E also plays a preservative role that an essential oil can also hold.
