The "melt and pour", literally "melt and pour", is a simple method to create your soaps.
This method is for those who don't want to spend 3 hours in the kitchen...
...And even less to handle the chemicals that go into the composition of classic soaps.
To replace the soda, we use the special "melt and pour" soap base that we will melt.
You can add anything you want:vegetable butter, vegetable oils, fragrances, essential oils or milk powders...
What I like about this method is that you don't have to take very precise measurements... I'm showing you my very simple recipe.
Contents
- 85 g of melt and pour soap base
- 20 g organic argan oil
- 75 drops of organic geranium essential oil
- 75 drops of organic palmarosa essential oil
- 1 drop of vitamin E
- A salad bowl
- A saucepan
- Mussels
- A spatula
- A scale
1. Sterilize all utensils and wash your hands thoroughly.
2. Cut into small pieces 85 g of "melt and pour" base.
3. In a small bowl, pour the argan oil and the base.
4. Immerse your salad bowl in a bain-marie.
5. When everything is melted and homogeneous, gently incorporate the essential oils and vitamin E.
6. Pour your mixture into small moulds.
7. Let it solidify by air drying.
8. Once they are dry and hard, gently unmold the soaps.
9. Let them air dry for a few hours.
There you go, your homemade soaps are already ready :-)
It's quick and easy to do, isn't it?
Now all you have to do is hit the shower!
Like all cosmetic products, your homemade soap has an expiration date. You can keep yours for 6 months.
Notes:
- In step 4, you must keep a constant heat so that the base melts gently without stopping turning with the spatula.
- Choose silicone molds instead if you have them:your soaps will be easier to unmold.
- For an original gift idea, you can wrap your soaps in cellophane and tie a small colored ribbon around it.
To push the detail a little further, you can create labels on your computer, print them. All that remains is to slide them under the ribbon.
- Of course, you don't have to reproduce this recipe exactly. There are a multitude of ingredients to incorporate. You will choose them according to your desires and needs. Let your imagination run wild!
- If vitamin E is added, it is because it is a fat-soluble vitamin (which dissolves in fat). It is widely used in cosmetics for its antioxidant and regenerating properties.
But not all oils are suitable for such uses. Double check before you start!
