Research by the United Nations Cancer Agency shows that hot drinks warmer than 65 degrees may increase the risk of esophageal cancer. A spokesperson for the World Health Organization says that the conclusions are based on too small a study and that more research is needed.
Still, it gives food for thought. Do you have a steely throat or do you often forget that you have poured tea or coffee and do you drink it lukewarm? Perhaps the latter is a smart move for your health.
