Have you escaped the flu so far? By exercising for at least 2.5 hours every week, you increase the chance that it will stay that way.
Influenza research
This is apparent from an English study in which just under 5,000 people took part. Among other things, they entered their age, whether they had received the flu shot, whether they are around children and how many hours they exercise intensively. In addition, they indicated whether they had flu-like symptoms.
Prevent the flu
The researchers concluded from the results that approximately 100 flu cases per 1,000 people can be prevented by intensive exercise. Note:moderate exercise does not help.
Lucky hit
Do you not exercise intensively for 2.5 hours a week? Then you're probably in luck. This year fewer people suffered from the flu than last year, namely 4.7 percent compared to 6 percent last year.
