Do you often suffer from fatigue? Iron pills can help…
Research
This is according to a study by the University of Lausanne. 198 women aged 18 to 53 years were examined. These all had to be fertile be, because menstruation lowers iron levels. All participants also suffered from fatigue for which there was no medical explanation.
Iron deficiency
During the study, half of the women were given 80mg iron pills and the other half were given sugar pills. Before the study and after 12 weeks, the women were checked to see how tired they were. And what turned out? In the women who had been given iron, fatigue was reduced by 50%! The unexplained fatigue that some women suffer from could very well be due to an iron deficiency. Isn't that very nice to know?
