Do you want to quit smoking? Eating more fruits and vegetables could help…
Research
The University at Buffalo conducted a survey of 1,000 smokers aged 25 and older. And what could be concluded? The smokers who most eat fruits and vegetables were more likely to quit smoking. Because of the healthy products there was less smoking and only later in the day a lit a cigarette. She managed to stop completely in 30 days on average.
No obvious cause
It is not clear to the researchers why fruits and vegetables influence smoking behaviour. According to them, it could be because the products have a Giving satisfaction, so that people have less need to smoke. A feeling of hunger is often confused with the desire to smoke, which is why you reach for the candy jar earlier if you stop. Time to trade it in for a delicious fruit basket!
