There is a new solution for those who want to get into the summer and still want to snack every now and then:cupcakes made of vegetables.
The company Petit Pois saw a gap in the market. After it became known that the carrot cake is the most popular sweet in Great Britain, the confectioner decided to bake more treats with vegetables.

The result:a gluten- and lactose-free vegetable cupcake with half the calories contains a 'normal' cupcake. The butter for the cupcake dough is replaced by pumpkin, zucchini or carrot † The vegetables are then mixed with rice and almonds. However, a cupcake wouldn't be a cupcake without a generous layer of frosting. That's why is on the greeting cupcakes a thin layer of glaze with a pea made from marzipan.

The cupcakes are currently – for about six euros per two – only at the British department store Selfridges for sale in London, Birmingham and Manchester.
