Hiccups are hell to pass, especially when they are tenacious...
What's more, hiccups always happen at bad times:meetings, bac exams, funerals, weddings...
Luckily, one of our readers shared with us a weird trick that works every time to get rid of it.
Our reader in question tells us, and I quote:"I've been doing this for almost 20 years and I've always had results."
So, I told myself that it could only be effective on me. I was waiting for the next hiccup attack...
... which was not long in coming. It was yesterday, so I followed our reader's instructions. Watch:
Contents
1. I turned on the tap.
2. I leaned to the side to drink some water.
3. After taking a few sips, I got up.
4. I then covered my ears for a minute, exactly as our reader advised.
And there, as incredible as it may seem, my hiccups were stopped dead thanks to this remedy :-)
Easy, fast and efficient, right?
Don't ask me why it works, but it really did!
I tried this trick several times and it worked every time.
If your hiccups are still there, repeat the operation a second time as our reader suggests.
Before, I used to hold my breath as long as possible to overcome a hiccup.
But it is not always effective and above all it is quite unpleasant. So, now I use this technique much easier.
Our reader adds that it also works for children:"To my daughter, I plug her ears while she drinks a glass of water in one gulp. Not only does it work but it's fun to do !".
Another reader suggested another trick to stop a hiccup that lasts:"I take a sugar and I soak it in vinegar and then I eat it. It's super effective!"
And it's not over. Another reader also shares her technique:"Take a sip of water, tilt your head forward and swallow the water very slowly". Like what, everyone has their own technique!
