Tuesday, January 12 at 7 pm there will be another press conference with Prime Minister Mark Rutte and Minister Hugo de Jonge and we will hear more about the lockdown and any new corona measures.
What will we hear during the press conference on Tuesday 12 January? The chance that there will be relaxations is quite small. There is even talk of extending the lockdown by three weeks.
For primary schools and childcare, it is still being examined whether the lockdown can be shortened. Sources in The Hague report that research is still being done into the British variant of the corona virus. It is being investigated whether the risk for children is acceptable. If that is the case, primary schools and childcare will probably open again on January 25th.
There was also talk about a curfew last Sunday, but it probably won't come. There is too much resistance, especially from mayors and the police, because the measure is difficult to enforce.
The press conference can be seen tonight at 7 p.m. on NPO1, RTL4, SBS6 and the NOS app.
