A study that lasted 25 years shows that watching a lot of television in combination with little exercise has an impact on your brain.
25 years of collecting information At the start of the study, the participants were between the ages of 18 and 30. For 25 years they regularly filled in questionnaires about their television viewing and sports behaviour. After the study, several cognitive tests were administered to test brain functions. The researchers took into account, among other things, age, gender and education level. The tests showed that those who watched TV for three hours a day or more and who exercised little were twice as likely to fail on cognitive tests.
When you're young, you probably don't worry too much about your brain health, but watching too much TV and exercising little does seem to have an effect on your cognitive functions as you get older. Maybe binge watch less often. A little bit of good news:Watching a lot of television doesn't negatively affect your verbal skills.
