March 1st has started Colon Cancer Month. This year's theme is the smallest room. We don't like to talk about our bowel movements and that is why we have chosen a taboo-breaking film this year.
Every year 13,000 people get cancer, of which 5,000 die. It is important that colorectal cancer is detected at the earliest possible stage, because that increases the chance of survival.
In a film with monologues and sketches, colon cancer is discussed in ten minutes:the inconveniences, the sadness, being sick together and the relief. The story was written and directed by Niek Barendsen, who writes and directs for Het Klokhuis, among others.
Tomorrow is the premiere of the film in the UMC in Utrecht. See where the film can be seen in the coming months.
