As of today, more than 1,400 pharmacies will open their doors for a week to people who want to know if they have diabetes. During this week, pharmacists want to point out and inform people about health risks.
During Diabetes Week, interested parties can have their blood sugar measured for free at participating pharmacies † Are you a diabetic? Then you can immediately make an appointment for a measurement check at your doctor.

According to the organizing professional organization KNMP (Royal Dutch Society for the Promotion of Pharmacy), no fewer than a quarter of a million people live with diabetes in the Netherlands without even knowing it. Most of them have type 2 diabetes , one of the fastest growing diseases in the world whose symptoms, such as fatigue, thirst and frequent urination , sometimes not be noticed in time.
