Retired doctors are the solution to the shortage of medical specialists in the future, according to research by MedicalWork.
The shortage of medical specialists will increase significantly within five years. Due to the aging population among medical specialists, approximately 17 percent of the number of medical specialists will stop working.
Research has shown that approximately 40 percent of these doctors would like to continue working flexibly and on a temporary basis. MedicalWork offers a solution for this.
The MedicalWork network consists of retired physicians who wish to continue working in their specialty on a temporary and flexible basis. Care institutions that want to expand their capacity by, for example, evening outpatient clinics and weekend operating rooms can make use of their services. In addition, the retired specialists can be deployed in the event of temporary understaffing, pregnancy or illness within the partnership or department.
