As far as is known, only health insurer CZ keeps track of errors on invoices. They alone have wrongly charged 400,000 euros. It is not about fraud by the hospital, but about errors in the declaration software. This is worrying, says PvdA MP Lea Bouwmeester. You must be able to rely on good care and an invoice that is correct. Especially because you pay for it at your own risk.
Fortunately, the costs are becoming more transparent and it is possible to check your own account. In the first instance, that is the task of hospitals, but also of health insurers, according to Minister Edith Schippers. But checking your account yourself can certainly pay off.
