Additional advice

This trick works to remove a big or a small splinter in the finger, thumb, hand, foot, heel, under a nail...

...and even for an invisible splinter that you can't see!

Whether you have a recalcitrant thorn of roses, cactus, thistle, sea urchins, fiberglass, this technique gives excellent results.

Why does it work?

Salt water relaxes the skin and softens the epidermis.

As for hot water, it opens the pores of the skin.

It is therefore much easier to remove the splinter even if it does not protrude.

This is even more true if the splinter is deeply embedded in the skin.

It also prevents infections, because salt is a natural disinfectant.
